The ascension Dragonfly - Great experience!

Hi everyone,

I few weeks ago I went on vacation to France for two weeks. The first week I resided in an area called the Ardèche. It is a area with countless valleys with rivers running trough them. The nature there is relaxing and is really amazing. Something I do not have here at home.

Anyway, I truly love the environment there. To bad i could not really enjoy it, because I was in the middle in one of the ascension phases. I was feeling a form of depression, the usual. This depression didn't let me enjoy anything. This phase took the complete week.

In the last day of that week, me and my family went on a canoe tour. The tour was about 6 kilometers. The waters there are quit calm, although there are some small rapids there. At this point I still experienced the problems of distortion and depression that came with the ascension process. I had some fun though, but it just didn't feel right. I could not feel the energy of the nature around or enjoy the water flowing trough the rapids. It was just disturbing.

When we were about to enter the last kilometer, I noticed a Blue Dragonfly hovering above the water, just beside my canoe. It landed on the back of the canoe. I saw it was watching me and I watched back for a few seconds. I the turned around my canoe, so the Dragonfly was in front of me.

It was at this point that I "Woke up" for a moment. I suddenly started noticing the mountains around, the wind playing with the leafs of the trees and the flow of the water under me. I experienced the oneness since a very long time. The depression was gone that moment. It was wonderful! I decided to continue on the way towards the end.

In my experience with dragonflies is that they fly away when you come to near. This time it was different. It just remained seated, with its vision pointed forward. Just like it was on watch-out duty. I felt protected and guided by it as we continued along the way. At some point we even encountered a rapid and I thought it would fly away. But it just remained seated. I even spoiled water over it. It startled, but quickly came at ease again and still remained seated. All the way towards the end, it guarded me. When I parked my canoe along the shore, it flew up and disappeared between the rest of nature. Just like if it was done guiding me.

Out of curiosity I googled what kind of meaning a Dragonfly holds. I was aware it would hold some meaning, but I was astounded to find this:

Symbolisms of the Dragonfly

  • Maturity and a Depth of character
The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world symbolizes change and change in the perspective of self realization; and the kind of change that has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life. The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world symbolizes change and change in the perspective of self realization; and the kind of change that has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life.
The traditional association of Dragonflies with water also gives rise to this meaning to this amazing insect. The Dragonfly's scurrying flight across water represents an act of going beyond what’s on the surface and looking into the deeper implications and aspects of life.
  • Defeat of Self Created IllusionsThe dragonfly exhibits iridescence both on its wings as well as on its body. Iridescence is the property of an object to show itself in different colors depending on the angle and polarization of light falling on it.
This property is seen and believed as the end of one’s self created illusions and a clear vision into the realities of life. The magical property of iridescence is also associated with the discovery of one's own abilities by unmasking the real self and removing the doubts one casts on his/her own sense of identity. This again indirectly means self discovery and removal of inhibitions.
  • Focus on living 'IN' the moment
The dragonfly normally lives most of its life as a nymph or an immature. It flies only for a fraction of its life and usually not more than a few months. This adult dragonfly does it all in these few months and leaves nothing to be desired. This style of life symbolizes and exemplifies the virtue of living IN the moment and living life to the fullest. By living in the moment you are aware of who you are, where you are, what you are doing, what you want, what you don't and make informed choices on a moment-to-moment basis.
This ability lets you live your life without regrets like the great dragonfly.
  • The eyes of the dragonfly are one of the most amazing and awe inspiring sights. Given almost 80% of the insect’s brain power is dedicated to its sight and the fact that it can see in all 360 degrees around it, it symbolizes the uninhibited vision of the mind and the ability to see beyond the limitations of the human self. It also in a manner of speaking symbolizes a man/woman’s rising from materialism to be able to see beyond the mundane into the vastness that is really our Universe, and our own minds.

At the other hand, it fits perfectly with some parts of the ascension process. Just remarkable.

That same day I returned to my depressed state, but with a stronger feeling that it is all part of the process. It was truly a very weird, but great experience. I wanted to share this one with you all.

Love and Light,
