![]() | You Thought the Gulf Oil Spill Was OverPosted by Adrian Tremayne on January 8, 2011 at 4:43pm in Gaia Healing/Activation Team They told you the well is plugged, the oil is gone, we're cleaning up the last few remains, so go back to watching TV and stop worrying. It ain't necessarily so. The government, and Big Oil and Gas, want you to believe everything is back to normal, that this was just a major minor blip on the radar. Whether they counted on scientists and environmentalists to keep watching or not, they did figure they could keep anything disturbing out of the mainstream media and so marginalized it would have no real effect. The were also counting on people wanting it to be over. Wanting to keep on as they always have been, not worrying about the consequences of driving, or flying, or cruising, wherever they wanted and whenever they wanted. So far, it seems to have worked. Americans are much more concerned with whether the Republicans or Democrats have a governmental majority than with what that government is, or is not, doing. We're watching the magicians while the foxes are not just raiding, but carrying away the hen house! We're so busy we're ignoring the people who've torn down the magician's curtain and are showing us how the trick is being done. Dead birds, dead fish are real. Mother didn't get our attention with the messes we've made in the environment, so now She's getting more vehement. The water in the Gulf of Mexico is still contaminated with oil and dispersant. It's not gone just because there aren't great gobs of it floating on the surface of the water for all to see, any more than the electricity in the wires of your house is gone when you turn off the light. It's just in very small pieces throughout the water wherever its's been carried by the currents. It's in the biosphere. Everything that eats in the Gulf is eating it, including humans who eat the products of the Gulf. And it is very toxic, if not immediately, then later as it further contaminates whatever is eating it. Eventually, it kills. There is even some indication the currents in the Gulf of Mexico have been affected and slowed down. Because they are connected with the system of the Gulf Stream up across the Western Atlantic, the Arctic Ocean, and back down past Great Britain and Europe, that current has been affected as well. There's not been enough observation yet to make definite statements, but the Gulf Stream current may have been slowed as well, which would have many of the adverse effects on European weather as are being seen this winter. Something you may not know - petrochemicals are radioactive. Unrefined oil is radioactive. In shallow wells, it's not radioactive enough to even worry about, really. Sitting next to it, you get a much lower dose of radiation than you do walking across a sunny street. But the deeper the oil comes from, the more radioactive it is. Didn't teach you that in school, did they. It's the "dirty little secret" the oil and gas companies don't want you to know. The Gulf well that blew, BP's well, was a very deep well. Bad enough the Gulf waters are full of dispersed oil, contaminated with the deadly toxic dispersant used, but it's oil which is radioactive enough to cause problems over time. No glow-in-the-dark fish, but cancer increases - oh, yes. So now we have radioactive (to the point of being carcinogenic) oil (toxic) dispersed (with toxic chemicals) contaminating (probably most) water in the Gulf of Mexico, and (probably) being slowly passed into the Atlantic Ocean, and from there, given enough time, into all the connected oceans and seas of the world, Now the bad news. We don't have the technology to fix this disaster. It's still happening, and we can't even slow it down. And our governments and industries are ignoring it, pretending if they don't notice, it will go away. Nobody is working on how we, or anything else on Earth, are going to cope with this major change in the biosphere. We're just being encouraged to get in our cars, drive to our favorite fast food restaurant, and pretend nothing has ever, or will ever, change. No need to conserve energy or change our life-styles. There is a link at the bottom of this post. It is to a fairly long article, which also contains links, which tells you what is happening with the Gulf, written in a scientific manner, with scientific backing for what it says. I've just given you the highlights. http://phoenixrisingfromthegulf.wordpress.com/2010/12/01/the-gulf-o...
