The Salt of the Earth

A few years back, my husband and I went to the salt mines in Kansas. We descended 600 feet deep into Mother Earth. We were told we could not bring any liquids because if it spilled, it would dissolve the floor. Down deep in the salt mines were the remains of the original truck that was used at the beginning of the salt mining. The preservation of this gave rise to a business of storage in the mined out parts of the ground. Since the mined out ancient salt lake provides great preservation qualities, it is used to store files and movie props among other things. Down there were the costumes from the movies Batman, the Matrix, superman and one of the Dorothy's from the movie "Twister".
On our journey through the mine, the guide led us to a spot and turned out the lights. You have not experienced darkness until you are this far underground with no light. We were then led around to some piles of salt and large rocks and given a bag. You were allowed to fill your little bag with salt and then pick one rock no larger than your palm. This is the one I chose. It was once part of a great salt lake, but that was 250,000,000 years ago. This is the true "salt of the earth". The clearer the crystal, the purer the salt. In theory, if you were to use this salt, or tap into the pockets of air within parts of the crystal, you could pull out microorganisms from millions of years ago that could still be alive. They recommend you do not use the salt directly from the mines for this reason.
I use this crystal for the absorption of negative energy. It has incredible abilities to contain negativity. Since I have had it, the negativity in our family and our house has gone to almost nothing. So never underestimate the power of the "salt of the earth."
